Strict

縱使變種病毒Omicron比Delta溫和得多，但是由於Omicron傳染力高，政府依然採取「零容忍」政策，實施一系列嚴格的（strict）防疫措施，幼稚園及小學更將於本星期五起停止面授課。

形容詞strict解「嚴格的、嚴厲的」。《劍橋字典》將strict定義為「strongly limiting someone's freedom to behave as they wish, or likely to severely punish someone if they do not obey」（按照自己的意願，強烈限制某人的行為自由；或者指如果不服從，可能會受到嚴厲懲罰）。

例句︰Hong Kong is reimposing some of its strictest social distancing measures since the pandemic began.（香港正重新實施自疫情開始以來一些最嚴格的社交距離措施。）My dance teacher is very strict with me.（我的舞蹈老師對我很嚴格。）

Strict也可以解「嚴謹的、精確的」。例如，His work is very stressful with constant pressure to meet very strict deadlines.（他的工作壓力很大，需要不斷嚴格按期完成工作。）

I don't expect this children's book to be a strict translation of the original text.（我不期望這本兒童圖書是原文的嚴格繙譯本。）
