Chaos

拜登撤軍引來種種爭議，他本人也承認事態發展較他預期快。成千上萬的阿富汗人，絕望地湧入喀布爾國際機場，有人甚至爬上飛機機翼，至少有8名阿富汗人在混亂（chaos）中喪生。

名詞chaos一字本身是-s字尾，並不代表複數。Chaos解「混亂、無秩序狀態」，從字義可見chaos是不可數名詞。Chaos可以配搭動詞cause（導致）、create（造成）、end in（結束）、be on the brink of（處於邊緣）等等。

例句︰The Afghan evacuation has created chaos at the airport.（阿富汗撤離在機場造成混亂。）Haiti was on the brink of chaos after the assassination of the president.（總統被暗殺後，海地處於混亂邊緣。）

改變字尾，可以將名詞chaos變成形容詞chaotic，也是解作「混亂的、雜亂的、無秩序的」。想加強語氣，可以說completely/totally/absolutely chaotic（完全／絕對地混亂）。

例句︰He finally has a breakdown as the situation has been frustrating and completely chaotic for weeks.（他終於崩潰了，因為數星期以來情況一直令人沮喪和完全混亂。）Areas surrounding the airport are also absolutely chaotic.（機場周邊地區也絕對是非常混亂。）
