Poke your eye

早上乘巴士上班，總會遇到女士在化粧。在行駛中的巴士化粧，隨時有轉彎及停車的「危機」。化粧的女士淡定自在，男士卻為她擔心：「不要畫眼綫！筆很尖，小心戳到眼睛（poke your eye）！」

「戳」的英文是poke，即是用手指或其他尖銳的物體快速按/插一下。例句：Be careful when you're holding a pen, or you'll poke someone in the eye.（當你拿着原子筆時要小心，否則你會戳到別人的眼睛。）You can poke the meat with your finger to see if it is fresh.（你可以用手指戳一下肉塊，看看它是否新鮮。）

動詞poke還可以解「伸出來、探出來」。例句：He poked his head out of his bedroom door and had a look around.（他從睡房門探頭出來，環視一下四周。）I couldn't wait for the shoot to poke up through the soil and start to grow.（我迫不及待想看綠芽破土而出，開始長大。）

Poke也可以用作名詞，常用give somebody a poke。例如，He gave the kid a poke in the stomach.（他戳了戳那小孩的肚子。）
