Identity

國際刑警日前發布影片，尋求公眾協助確認22名被謀殺婦女和女孩的身份（identity）。她們的屍體於1976至2019年期間在比利時、德國和荷蘭被發現。

名詞identity解「身份」，牛津字典將identity一字定義為「who or what somebody/something is」。甚麼是identity？一個人的identity是甚麼？這些都是深奧的議題，而且identity隨着經歷或有所改變。

名詞identity可以配搭的動詞很多，例如，discover（發現）、reveal（揭示）、disclose（披露）、know（知道）、establish（確立）、hide（隱藏）、protect（保護）、adopt（採用）、assume（冒充）等。

例句︰The main focus of the INTERPOL campaign is to establish the victims' identities.（那個國際刑警的運動主要重點是確定受害者的身份。）The lawyer would not say anything further in order to protect the identity of the child.（為了保護孩子的身份，律師不會再說甚麼。）

形容詞方面，名詞identity可以配搭real（真實的）、true（真正的）、false（虛假的）、new（新的）、different（不同的）等。
