政府宣布復常路綫圖，在4月21日後分3階段（stages）解除大部分社交距離措施，包括幼稚園和小學復課，但仍需要繼續使用安心出行、疫苗通行證、口罩等。

名詞stage可以解過程（process）或發展（development）的「階段、時期」。例如，The government will begin relaxing restrictions on social gatherings in three stages from 21 April.（政府將從4月21日起分3個階段開始放寬對社交聚會的限制。）

The economy is at a difficult stage.（經濟處於困難時期。）

Early childhood may be the most important life stage for brain development.（幼兒期可能是大腦發育最重要的人生階段。）

「分階段進行、逐步進行」，英文可以用in stages。例句︰The government will relax restrictions on social gatherings in stages from 21 April. The economy will recover in stages as critical sectors resume their activities first.（隨着關鍵行業首先恢復活動，經濟將分階段復甦。）

Speech production skills develop in stages and follow a developmental pattern.（說話能力是分階段發展的，並遵循發展模式。）
