Clarify

隨着確診數字上升，政府和醫管局需要調整防疫和支援措施，不時在各大媒體解釋和澄清（clarify）有關措施，市民亦可以致電熱綫查詢。

動詞clarify解「澄清、闡明」，即是提供更多細節或更簡單的解釋，使事情變得更清晰或更容易理解，免得混亂。例如，The Chief Executive has clarified the government has no plans at this stage for a citywide lockdown.（行政長官已澄清政府現階段沒有全面封城計劃。）Could you help to clarify the quarantine requirements for travellers from Japan？（你可以幫忙闡明對來自日本的旅客的檢疫要求嗎？）

動詞clarify加上字尾-tion，可以變成名詞clarification。組句時，clarification可以配搭動詞seek（尋求）、find（尋找）、require（要求）、need（需要）及provide（提供）等。例句︰Mall operators would seek clarification from the government on how to enforce the vaccine pass scheme.（商場運營商將尋求政府澄清如何執行「疫苗通行證」計劃。）He can provide clarification on essential caregiver visits during the pandemic.（他可以解釋疫情期間的必要照顧者探訪。）
