Curfew rumours

宵禁（curfew）之說到底是政府「放風」試水溫，還是網民謠傳﹖終究現階段沒有實施宵禁，大可歸類為普通謠言，「無乜特別意義」。

名詞curfew解「戒嚴、宵禁令、宵禁時間」，指政府禁止平民於特定時間外出的命令，一般在戰爭、國內緊急狀態或政治動盪時期才會實施。

因為curfew是由政府頒令強制實施，所以常配動詞impose。例句︰Rumours that the Hong Kong government would impose a weekend curfew swept the city last week.（上周，有謠傳說香港政府將實行周末宵禁。）想描述在那裏實施宵禁，可以用句式（place）be placed under curfew。例如，It will only be effective if all districts across the city are placed under curfew.（只有整個城市的所有地區都實行宵禁，該措施才會有效。）

要描述「取消宵禁」，則可以說lift a curfew。例句︰The government will not lift the curfew until all targeted areas are cleansed.（在所有目標區域清洗完畢之前，政府不會解除宵禁。）
