The wee hours

在香港，想工作與生活平衡，談何容易？不用工作到凌晨（the wee hours）已經萬幸！

The wee hours又可以叫做the small hours，指「凌晨」，午夜12點到太陽升起前，大多數人睡覺的時候。一、二、三、四點都是小數字，所以適合用wee或者small形容。應用時，必須配合定冠詞（definite article）the。例句︰She often works until the wee hours alone in the office.（她經常在辦公室獨自工作至凌晨。）They stayed up looking after their sick child until the wee hours of the next morning.（他們熬夜照顧生病的孩子直到第二天凌晨。）

Wee用作形容詞，解「很小的」，常用a wee bit指「一點點」。例句︰The soup was a wee bit too salty for me.（那碗湯對我來說有些小太鹹。）I'm not sure what it is but his behaviour has been just a wee bit strange recently.（我不知道是甚麼，但他的行為最近是有點奇怪。）

Wee還可以用作動詞，解「小便」。例如，At least let me go for a wee first.（至少讓我先去個小便吧。）
