Count your blessings

利市利市，祝你新一年事事順利。利市是心意、是祝福（blessing），應想想收到利市有多幸福，而非數算計較銀碼（count your blessings, not the money）。

Blessing就是常聽God bless you！一語裏bless的名詞形式，宗教意味濃，blessing有「上帝的幫助和保護」之意，亦可解作「幸事、祝福」。例句：We ask God's blessing on this child.（我們祈求上帝保佑這小孩。）Good health is a blessing.（身體健康是幸事。）Please accept our blessing to your family.（請接受我們對你家人的祝福。）

跟中文的說法一樣，「得到某人的祝福」可以引伸指「得到某人的批准或允許」，例句：He will leave home to pursue his dream with or without his parents' blessing.（無論父母是否同意，他依然會離家去追求自己的夢想。）The government gave its blessing to the new scheme.（政府批准那新計劃。）
