Luxury price cuts

歐元貶值，各大名牌紛紛在亞洲降價（cut price），優惠顧客之餘，有助刺激銷售、減少假貨、打擊水貨。當然，也有名牌怕此舉會損害其形象，不會跟隨降價潮（price-cut trend）。

Cut除了解「切、割」，例如cut the cake into six pieces（把蛋糕切成六份），還可以解「削減、縮短」。Cut用於指「減價」，其實與中文「割價」的說法相類。想說明減價多少，可以用cut price by（amount）/ xx％。例句：The flat seller was willing to cut price by $80,000 after the new government policy had been introduced.（政府推出新政策後，業主願意降價八萬元。）Chanel cut price by 20％on three of its best-known handbags in Hong Kong.（香奈兒將三款最知名的手袋在香港降價兩成。）

留意，cut是不規則動詞（irregular verb），其過去式（past tense）和過去分詞（past participle）不像規則動詞（regular verb）一樣規則地加-ed, cut的過去式和過去分詞都是用cut。
