Hit and miss

開架品牌始終價錢低廉，產品時好時壞（hit-and-miss）。不過，我依然很喜歡嘗試開架品牌的產品，若果碰巧遇到好用的，便會一直用下去，為荷包省下不少。

Hit and miss這短語很到位，hit解「擊中」，miss解「沒有擊中」，hit and miss指「有時中、有時不中」，即是「有時成功，有時失敗」，不可預知是好是壞。例如，This high street brand launched many new products this month, but it was a hit and miss. Some are really good；some are just bad.（這開架品牌本月推出了許多新產品，但些好些壞。有些真的非常好用，有些就是不好用。）又例如，It's a bit of a hit and miss with this restaurant--some dishes were great, some were disappointing.（這家餐廳有點要碰運氣--有些菜式很棒，有些卻令人失望。）

加上連字符號，hit-and-miss可以用作形容詞。例句：Baking macarons is a hit-and-miss thing for me.（焗馬卡龍對我來說是件碰運氣的事情。）

另外，用hit and miss或者hit or miss也可。
