Ease concerns

政府強調為2013年後落成的公屋抽水驗鉛，只是為了紓緩居民的憂慮（ease residents' concerns），並非有證據顯示含鉛過高。政府就鉛水事件，必須照顧市民的生理健康和心理擔憂。

動詞ease很好用，亦很常見，一定要學。在ease residents' concerns一語中，ease解「緩解、減輕、使安心」，用ease residents' mind代替ease residents' concerns，指make residents' feel less worried（使居民不那麼擔心）也可。由於ease解「緩解、減輕」，其後接的名詞自不然帶貶義。例如，ease the pain（緩解疼痛）、ease traffic congestion（緩解交通擠塞）、ease the burden on parents（減輕父母的負擔）。

Ease又可以解「放鬆、使更方便」。例句：Ease up！It's only a joke.（放鬆一點！這只是個玩笑。）The new policy will ease the way for the company to meet its sales target.（新政策將使公司更容易達到其銷售目標。）

還有，ease可以解「小心、緩慢地移動」。例句：His pregnant wife eased herself out of the bed.（他懷孕的妻子慢慢地從床上起身。）
