Issue

颱風消息一出，大家便需要密切關注天文台何時發出（issue）和除下8號風球，安排上下班、返學放學等等。

Issue用作動詞可以指官方「發布、頒發」，正式發表聲明、命令又或者警告。例如，The Observatory has issued the Typhoon No. 8 signal.（天文台已經發出8號颱風訊號。）

The company issued a statement yesterday announcing the closure of its Kowloon store.（該公司昨天發表聲明，宣布關閉其九龍店。）

The inspector issued a warning to the restaurant.（督察向那間餐廳發出警告。）

動詞issue也可以指官方「發出」，即是擔任官方職位的人或者機構發布文件或設備等東西，給予需要它們的人。例如，The student visa is normally issued within one month from the date all required papers have been submitted.（學生簽證通常在全部所需文件提交後一個月內簽發。）

The medical staff were issued with protective clothing.（為醫務人員發放了防護服。）

Attendance certificates will be issued to students who have attended all the lessons.（出席所有課堂的學生將會獲發出席證書。）
