Teething problems

關愛基金為低收入家庭的新來港定居成員提供一次過的一萬元津貼。勞工及福利局局長羅致光指出，為了加快計劃的推行進度，才會在無招標的情況下委託中銀為代理銀行。如果更多銀行參與，將涉及更多的初期困難（teething problems）。

Teething problems又叫teething troubles，指「初期困難」，例如創業階段、新產品試驗期、系統測試期等開始時存在的短期小問題--short-term small problems。

因此，teething problems可以與major problems作對比。例句︰Apart from teething problems, there are no major problems with the project.（除了初期發展的小問題外，該項目沒有重大問題。）

Teething problems跟單字problems一樣，可以配搭動詞have、face、tackle、solve、overcome等等。例句︰The company admitted that they expected users to face teething problems with the new system.（該公司承認，他們預望用戶初期使用新系統時會遇到小問題。）

I am glad that it took less time than I had expected to overcome the teething problems.（我很高興，解決初期困難所花的時間比我預期中要少。）
