Traffic chaos

近幾個月出門前都要看看交通和示威情況，帶着小朋友盡量避開混亂（chaos）。很希望快點回復往昔的日子，可以無憂地到處去。

名詞chaos解「混亂、無秩序狀態」。要強調非常混亂，可說total chaos、complete chaos、utter chaos。Chaos的性質有traffic chaos（交通混亂）、political chaos（政治混亂）、social chaos（社會混亂）、economic chaos（經濟混亂）等。組句時，可配搭動詞cause（造成）、create（引起）、bring（招致）等。例句︰The protest has caused chaos on the roads throughout the city.（示威活動令整個城市的道路交通秩序混亂。）Protesters threatened to bring traffic chaos to different districts on Monday.（示威者威脅在星期一令不同地區交通混亂。）留意，chaos是不可數名數（uncountable noun），雖是-s字尾，但並非複數，chaos本身的拼寫就是-s字尾。

Chaotic則是形容詞，解「混亂的、毫無秩序的」。例句︰Traffic was chaotic as people made their way to work during railway disruption.（人們在鐵路中斷期間試圖上班，交通十分混亂。）
