澳洲山火自去年9月焚燒以來仍未受控，造成至少27人死亡，估計逾10億頭動物葬身火海。除了造成人類及動物傷亡，當地不少地方及生態環境亦遭到毀滅性破壞，人類家園及動物棲息地盡毀。對此，有外國網站羅列出19個地方山火前後的對比照，顯示出原本的美景已不復存在，令人倍感心痛。
網站「boredpanda」指出，過去近4個月以來，山火已吞噬了澳洲超過1,000萬公頃的土地，並造成嚴重空氣污染。上周五（3日），被重災區新南威爾士州包圍的首都堪培拉，空氣質量更被評為全球主要城市中的第3差。
從網站展示的圖片顯示，袋鼠島（Kangaroo Island）、塔斯拉海灘（Tathra Beach）、莫戈野生動物園（Mogo Wildlife Park）、Mallacoota碼頭（Mallacoota Wharf）等地在山火發生前風光明媚；但在山火出現後，原來綠油油一片的美景卻變成一片焦土，或是因空氣被極度污染而瀰漫着一片恐怖的血紅色，而動物或人類則繼續在血色中生活，令人觸目驚心。
