浴室潮濕，鏡面水垢一旦累積往往難以清除。日本家品雜誌《LDK》早前測試市面18款水垢去除產品，除清潔劑外亦包括多款研磨產品。其中有4款除水垢能力獲滿分，當中包括1款3M產品；亦有部分潔淨能力較差，但亦不易傷到玻璃表面。

《LDK》指出，坊間去除鏡面水垢的產品一般可以分為洗劑及研磨產品等類別，其中洗劑亦可從成分劃分為3大類，其潔淨效能亦往往與是否容易傷及鏡面成反比。各類型產品的特點如下：

二氧化鈰：研磨力較弱，較適合應付較不頑固水垢。
氧化鋁：普遍含有微粒，較不容易損壞鏡面，適用於中程度水垢，一般建議可在發現鏡面有污漬時才使用。
人工鑽石：一般為固體，特徵是研磨力強，頑固污垢都可以在短時間內清除，但同時亦易傷及鏡面，適宜邊加水邊輕力磨擦。
