芝麻經常被視健康食物，同時芝麻醬或芝麻油亦是常用調味料。消委會搜羅芝麻油（20款）、芝麻粉（10款）及芝麻醬（5款）樣本，其中有4個樣本塑化劑超標，最高達79倍，長期食用或影響肝腎器官健康，有1款則基因致癌物超標。其中17款在總評獲我5星滿分，當中不乏平價抵買選擇。

消委會指鄰苯二甲酸酯是一種塑化劑，有研究指如長期過量進食塑化劑可能會影響實驗動物生殖系統發展，以及損害肝臟、腎臟等器官健康。香港針對5種塑化劑（DBP、 DEHP、 DIDP、DINP、BBP 5）分別訂定不同行動水平。

4樣本塑化劑含量超標 最高超79倍
針對塑化劑裡面的DBP，測試結果發現有3款芝麻油、2款芝麻粉及1款芝麻醬含DBP，其中「冠益華記」芝蔴油（混合）、「同珍」小磨蔴油及「点点綠」100%純黑芝麻粉的含量超出食安中心行動水平。
有16款芝麻油、3款芝麻粉及1款芝麻醬檢出DEHP，其中「冠益華記」芝蔴油（混合）及「淘大」極品醇香黑芝麻油超出食安中心行動水平；檢出DINP則有5款芝麻油及1款芝麻粉，其中以「Kobebussan」Black Sesame Powder檢出量最高，但仍未超食安中心行動水平。
針對塑化劑，消委會指「冠益華記」芝蔴油（混合）的DBP及DEHP檢出量分別為每公斤24及71毫克，亦即分別超標79倍及46倍。成年人若每日進食這款芝麻油樣本超過15.7克，即約1湯匙就會超過歐洲食物安全局訂定的組合每日可耐受攝入量；如以體重19公斤的5歲女孩為例，若每日進食該款芝麻油樣本超過5.0克（即約1茶匙）已超過每日可耐受攝入量。
1個樣本基因致癌物超標
氯丙二醇脂肪酸酯（3-MCPDE）及加工污染物縮水甘油脂肪酸酯會在進入人體腸道並大幅水解後，分別釋出影響實驗動物雄性生殖系統、損害腎臟功能與中樞神經系統的物質，以及對身體有害的基因致癌物環氧丙醇。
測試發現，有13款芝麻油樣本檢出3-MCPD，含量介乎每公斤120微克至2,300微克，差距極大，檢出量最高的樣本為「淘大」極品醇香黑芝麻油，但仍未超歐盟標準；環氧丙醇方面，有13款芝麻油樣本檢出環氧丙醇，同樣以「淘大」極品醇香黑芝麻油含量最高，且已超出歐盟標準。

飽和脂肪酸會令血液中的壞膽固醇上升。以百克計，飽和脂肪酸含量最高及最低的芝麻油樣本分別是「芝初」及「同珍」，兩者相差約44%，含量最高及最低的芝麻粉樣本分別是「佳之選」和「点点綠」；含量最高及最低的芝麻醬樣本分別是「多多」及「芝麻屋」。
長期進食大量反式脂肪酸會增加患心血管疾病的風險。以每百克計，反式脂肪酸檢出量最高的樣本是「東和」冷壓初榨黑芝麻油，以1個每日攝入2,000千卡的成人計算，食用1份（10克）已佔世衛建議的每日成人攝取上限約4.6%。
