Mask

新加坡解除口罩令（mask order）兩個多月，感染數字不升反跌，降至解除令前的約3成。香港的口罩令已經持續兩年多了，何時才可以解除？

Mask用作名詞解「面罩、面具」，例如，a surgical mask（外科口罩）、a face mask（面罩）、a gas mask（防毒面具）等等。名詞mask最常配搭動詞wear（戴）和take off（除）。例句︰People in many countries are no longer required by law to wear masks.（許多國家不再規定市民戴口罩。）Take off your mask so I can see your smile.（除下你的口罩，讓我看見你的笑容。）

Mask也可以用作動詞，解「用面具遮住、掩蓋」。Mask是及物動詞（transitive verb），需要後接受詞（object），說明遮蓋甚麼。例句︰This air freshener can help to mask the bad smell of a washroom.（這空氣清新劑可以幫助掩蓋洗手間的難聞氣味。）

Mask用於指「掩飾（情感）」也可。例如，The parents could not mask their disappointment at their son's bad exam results.（那對父母無法掩飾對兒子糟糕的考試成績的失望。）
